On Wednesday 26 March Fondazione ICA Milano opens to the public its Spring exhibition program, designed to intersect the city's two major thematic weeks, with three new projects, presented for the first time in Italy.
Cemile Sahin's exhibition ROAD RUNNER continues the program of the institution's project room with a project that addresses urgent political issues of our present.
Fondazione ICA Milano project room is dedicated to the exhibition ROAD RUNNER by Cemile Sahin (Germany, 1990), curated by Chiara Nuzzi. ROAD RUNNER is the title of Sahin’s latest film, a fast-paced sci-fi thriller which tells the story of two sisters trapped in between physical and virtual realities. As is typical of Sahin’s practice, the film seamlessly uses text within the imagery, and jumps between styles including action films, video games, commercials, and animation. In her signature, poppy style Sahin addresses the overlap between war and game technologies and the casual presence of violence and surveillance in everyday life.
ROAD RUNNER is presented in collaboration with CIRCA and funded by the #CIRCAECONOMY.
The exhibition is realized thanks to the contribution of Esther Schipper Berlin / Paris / Seoul.
